The main purpose of this tournament is to foster friendly and cheerful exchanges. Whether you are a beginner or have been playing for years, you are welcome. Respecting your opponent is our top priority.
Practical Information*
- Registration fee: 15 CHF per person (includes participation, a light lunch at midday, drinks, and coffees).
- Age requirement: Minimum 9 years old.
- Random draw: Each player draws a number from a bag that will follow them throughout the tournament.

Tournament ends: 4:00 PM
Value of the Pieces* (Count after 30 minutes)
At the end of 30 minutes if neither player has won, a count is performed based on the following points:
Rules and Scoring System*
- Each player is included in a group and plays against their opponents. Winners advance to the final stages.
- Fair play is required at all times.
- Win: 3 points | Draw: 1 point | Loss: 0 points.
- En passant capture is allowed although rarely used.
Game Format*
Each round (a game played between 2 people) will last 30 minutes without a timer.
Games can be observed, but spectators must not interfere or comment, except in case of an obvious rule violation (e.g., illegal castling setup).
Draw / Stalemate*
The game is declared a "draw" (meaning without a winner) if any of the following conditions occur:
- The player whose turn it is to move is not in check, but has no legal move available, which is known as a stalemate.
- There is no possibility for either side to checkmate the opposing king due to insufficient material (example: king versus king) or because no sequence of moves can lead to a checkmate.
- The last 50 consecutive moves have been played by each player without any pawn movement or capture.
- By triple occurrence of the same position on the board, consecutive or not (two positions are identical if the same player has the move and the same rights for castling and en passant apply).
- By mutual agreement between the two players.
